Rare Disease Day 2021

👨🏻‍⚕️ Today is the International Rare Disease Day.

📢 As a service of the Association Luxembourgeoise des Hémophiles, we would like to draw your attention to rare diseases.

ℹ️ Rare diseases often make life very difficult for those affected. Diagnosis usually takes several years, treatment options are limited and medications are expensive.
ℹ️ Rare diseases are diseases that affect less than one person per 2,000 people. Often they are even rarer.
ℹ️ So far, over 6,000 different rare diseases have been identified.
ℹ️ One in 20 people is affected by a rare disease or will be in their lifetime. You probably also know someone who is affected by this fate.
ℹ️ Because of their rarity, a correct diagnosis often takes many years and, moreover, there is no treatment for about 95% of rare diseases.

🚨 In order to correctly assess your symptoms and body functions in an emergency, it can be important for the doctor treating you to know about your rare disease. So don't hesitate to put this important information in your QR-Help medical record.
